International Fencing Academy (hereinafter ‘IFA’, ‘the company’, ‘us’, ‘we’ or ‘our’) commits to abide by the principles of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance so as to ensure the personal data collected and kept is accurate and secured. This statement (“Privacy Policy”) describes the privacy practices we have adopted in relation to collecting and keeping personal data.
1. Circumstances of Collecting Information
We collect information you provided to us when joining us as members, subscribing our services, lodging a complaint or requesting us to reply your queries or needs. This includes your name, age, gender, email address, phone number, home address, emergency contact and other information you provide us.
We also collect information when you visit/use our website or mobile app. This may include information about the device you used to connect website/mobile app, your location, and, information collected by Cookies and other tracking tools.
For protecting your safety, your image may be collected through CCTV installed at our service centres and offices.
2. Use of Personal Data Your personal data we collected, retained, processed and used for the below purpose or any directly related purposes.
a. handling enquiries;
b. processing application for admission and registration;
c. issuing official receipts and proof of attendance;
d. verifying your identity for training and competition;
e. purchasing your equipment and cash voucher;
f. collecting user feedback and conducting analyses;
g. endorsing certificate application for applicants;
h. provision of services to process, confirm, charge for services provided and to improve our service level;

j. daily operation of our services;
k. invitation to customers for participating in promotional campaigns, market research, surveys and to recommend suitable services in the future;

You are required to provide your accurate personal data, other than those items not indicated as compulsory. Failure to provide such data may lead to inability to receive services.

Personal Data supplied to IFA will be kept confidential. However, IFA may, where such disclosure is necessary to satisfy the purpose, or a directly related purpose, for which the Personal Data was collected, provide such Personal Data to the following parties:
a. subsidiaries and associated companies of IFA;
b any agent, contractor or third party service provider who provides services to our company in connection with the operation of our business;
c. any agent authorized by our company to process personal data of our customers;
d. auditors, consultants or legal counsel of our company;
e. the media (in relation to the handling of customer complaints and enquiries in certain circumstances);
f. any person who owes a duty of confidentiality to our company.
4. Direct Marketing
Subject to obtaining your consent, we intend to use your personal data including name and contact details to send you marketing or promotional communications in relation to: a. products and services provided and/or offered by us, subsidiaries and associated companies of IFA in relation to sports goods and services; b. activities, offers and news from subsidiaries and associated companies of IFA;

Our company will maintain your personal data securely in a secure and confidential manner. Only authorized staff have been properly trained, will be permitted to access to such personal data. However we cannot guarantee complete security. We shall not be liable for damages that may result from unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, failure or delay in delivery of electronic communications, and any other cases that may compromise the security of user’s personal information.
6. “Cookies” By using IFA’s website and mobile apps, you agree that IFA can store and access cookies, IP addresses and use other methods in order to collect website usage data and improve your on-line experience.
